ALUMINUM SWIMMING POOL FENCE
All of our aluminum swimming pool fence is designed to meet all the BOCA swimming pool safety codes. Many of our aluminum fence panels are specifically designed with swimming pool BOCA codes in mind. The most important compliance factors for ornamental aluminum fence are:
- The fence must be at least 48” (4 ft) tall with a 2-rail design.
- 54” is the minimum height for a 3-rail flat top & flush bottom.
- The fence must be at least 45” between the bottom rail and the next rail up to prevent children from getting a foothold.
- The picket spacing must be less than 4”.
- The space between the bottom rail and ground is typically 2” but cannot be over 4”.
- Gates must be self-closing, self-latching, and open outward (away from the pool area).
- The opening mechanism of the latch (the handle) must be at least 54” above the ground to be out of reach of children.
These are standard BOCA codes, and we will make sure you meet them. Every town will have the right to modify the code as they see fit. It’s not uncommon to see a town require 6’ high fence. Always check your local pool codes with your zoning board.
